The Practice Team
Here at Warwick Gates Family Health Centre we believe we
have a friendly and efficient team of well-trained staff. Below is a
list of our Doctors and
Nurses as well as our
Practice Manager with a short
description of what they do.

Doctors
Dr Francis Campbell
MB ChB MRCGP DRCOG MA DFFP
I qualified at Birmingham Medical School in 1981 and then worked at
local hospitals in Leamington and Warwick before joining my previous
practice in 1986 leaving to start Warwick Gates Family Health Centre
with Dr Andrew Kennedy in April 2000.
I have a particular interest in health management and have been the
chair of the Professional Executive Committee of South Warwickshire
Primary Care Trust for the last 3 years.
I have particular interest in paediatrics, obstetrics and dermatology -
having been a clinical assistant in dermatology for 5 years.
I am a qualified rugby coach although now am reduced to watching
football either from the touchline or as a referee.
I also have a RYA Yachtmaster qualification and spend as much time as I
am allowed sailing and fishing.

Dr Andrew Kennedy MB ChB TD
I qualified at Birmingham Medical School in 1977. I then worked in
Shrewsbury and Birmingham before joining my previous practice in 1982. I
then left to open this practice in March 2000.
Since 1994 i have been Secretary of Warwickshire LMC and a member of the
West Midlands regional LMC.
I was GP advisor to South Warwickshire / Warwickshire Health Authorities
for 6 years.
I have an interest in Occupation Health, was a founder member of MAAG
and am developing research and in the practice for MRC, MidRec and drug
trials.
I am involved in the performance monitoring / support for the GPs of
Warwickshire.
I am a qualified rugby coach and most of my weekends are taken up
watching rugby (and avoiding DIY).

Dr Moira Rose BM
MRCGP DRCOG DFFP
I qualified in Southampton in 1992 and then spent three and a half years
in training posts in Monmouthshire. For a couple of years I lived abroad
in Germany and on returning, worked as a locum in General Practice and
family planning. I moved to Warwickshire at the beginning of 2001 and
joined Warwick Gates Family Health Centre in May 2001.
My Interests include Women’s Health and Child Health. I hold a DRCOG
(Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and DFFP (Family planning
diploma) and am on the Obstetric and Child Health Surveillance lists.
I am a GP tutor for Birmingham University and am involved in training
final year medical students at the practice.
I am married with 2 children and live locally. I am a member of a local
church and involved in running a youth club. I enjoy, walking,
badminton, gardening and DIY.

Dr Josie Swinden
MBBS DRCOG DFFP MRCGP
I qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1996,
and completed my GP training in 2000.
I worked as a GP locum in the Coventry and Warwickshire area until
joining the practice in 2003.
I have additional qualifications in obstetrics and gynaecology as well
as family planning.
I am a keen scuba diver both in England and abroad and spend as much
time as possible pursuing this hobby.

Dr Suzanne
Redfern MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFFP
I qualified from Birmingham in 1997, did my GP training in
Shrewsbury before moving to Warwickshire in 2004. I have worked as a GP
locum for 7 years until joining Warwick Gates Family Health Centre
permanently.
I have an interest in women’s health and I have the following additional
qualifications in this:
DRCOG – Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
DFFP – Family Planning Diploma
I also have vocational qualifications in remedial massage and
reflexology.
I have an interest in photography, which I like to combine with my
passion for travel. In my spare time I also play and watch cricket, play
squash and I enjoy live music.

The Nurses
Jo Floyd RN
Qualified as a Registered General Nurse in April 1991 and worked in
trauma orthopaedics for a few years before specialising in this field
and gaining a Diploma in Orthopaedics from Ascot in September 1993.
She returned to Warwick following orthopaedics training and continued in
orthopaedics and attained a BA Hons from Warwick on Health and Social
Policy (1997) before moving to Private sector of Warwick Hospital in
1998. In this sector, nursed all specialities and gained a diploma in
Surgical Nursing and a certificate in Stoma Care.
Joined WGFHC in 2002 and current roles include travel health,
hypertension and diabetes

Yvonne Kennedy
RN BSc (Hon) RM
I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1978 and completed my
midwifery nursing qualifications in 1980.
During the 1980s I gained experience in Accident & Emergency, Neurology
and Women's Health, working in NHS hospitals and private screening
before having my first son.
My first practice nurse post was in1987. I have worked in this area ever
since.
I have completed many recognised course to gain qualifications as a
Specialist Practice Nurse, Nurse Practitioner and Community Practice
Teacher. I have a diploma level qualifications in Asthma, Diabetes and
Family Planning and am a Family Planning Instructing Nurse.
I have been interested in research work for many years and hope to start
teaching nurse students in the near future.

Toni McKeaney
RN
I qualified as a registered general nurse in 1993 and as a registered
sick children's nurse in 1996. I have worked in several NHS hospitals
and in Australian hospitals. Both as a general nurse and a children's
nurse.
I came into practice nursing in 2004 and have worked in this area ever
since. Special interests in child health and coronary heart disease.
I am married and have two children aged 4 and 6 who currently take up
most of my free time! As for interests I love shopping!

The
Practice Manager
Patricia Campbell
On leaving school I qualified as a secretary and then had a change of
direction and trained and qualified as a nurse in 1981.
I worked in Stratford, Leamington and Warwick Hospitals until moving
into administration in a local practice in 1990 and organised and worked
out the Fourth National Morbidity study for the RCGP.
During the next few years I developed a greater understanding of General
Practice as well as gaining Administration and Management qualifications
at the Warwickshire College.
In 1995 I was involved with the setting up of the local Out of Hours
co-op as deputy manager.
I left my previous practice in March 2000 to set up the reception and
administration within WGFHC - a task that has kept me fully occupied
since! I have since furthered my practice management skills by obtaining
a Diploma in Practice Management in 1996.
I enjoy tennis, squash, cooking and gardening.
