Flu Vaccines
Flu Vaccines available at the surgery by making an
appointment with the nurses.
Choose and Book
A new way of making hospital appointments available is currently being
used in this practice. It is called Choose and Book.
Whenever a doctor makes a referral to a hospital clinic a Choose and
Book referral will be made at the time of the consultation. The doctor
will give you a printout of the hospitals who will be able to see you
about your condition and you can choose where you wish to go. The
printout will give you a number to find out more about the amenities of
each hospital and another set of numbers for booking an appointment to
suit you once you've decided where you would like to go. In essence you
are given a choice of hospitals who can accept your referral and then
you book the appointment yourself.
Learning and Teaching
We are a training practice where medical students, nurses and other
health care professionals may gain experience.
We also regularly have medical students attached to our practice. There
is a notice in our waiting room explaining that a student may be present
during your consultation. We hope that if you might find the presence of
a student in any way embarrassing or inhibiting, you will inform the
receptionists so that you will be able to see your doctor or nurse
alone. Some consultations are recorded on video for educational purposes
but once again only with your consent.
