Midwife 

Appointments are available on Mondays and Thursday mornings. Patients booking for a first time appointment should be nine weeks gestation. On booking for the midwife we ask you to fill out a form and the midwife will contact you and this could be at home or at the surgery.

A message book is held at the surgery for patients wishing to contact the midwife; this is accessed weekly on a Tuesday or can be phoned through on the day, if requested.

The new mums and babies (baby weighing clinic) is held at Warwick Gates Community Centre 09:30 - 11:30 on Thursday mornings.

Health Visitor

 The Health Visitor at this practice, is available on a direct telephone line:

On registering with the practice, our health visitors will make contact with parents of children under 5 years old; this provides the family with the opportunity to discuss family health issues and to obtain information about the local Health Visiting Service.

Child development screening is carried out by  Dr. Francis Campbell, Dr. Moira Rose, Dr. Josie Swinden and Dr Suzanne Redfern

 

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
